PYROSAFE VENT OFFSET

The PYROSAFE VENT OFFSET is a dual smoke and heat detector with shut down air valve, suitable for kitchen, bathroom and living environments.

The single room passive inlet/outlet, PYROSAFE VENT provides protection of both smoke and fire from escaping or coming through the ventilation port.

The integral smoke and heat detector will shut down the ventilation port in the event of detecting smoke with a further protection employed by the intumescent seal contained within the metal connecting section.

Bluetooth connectivity allows for extensive remote testing of the unit, with the benefit of being able to test the unit without needing to access the dwelling. The onboard data logger is also accessible via Bluetooth, allowing the user to download and then email the relevant data to be filed. This allows compliance of testing to be proven, if required.

GENERAL NOTES

The PYROSAFE VENT is designed to stop the dangers of smoke from other dwellings when a fire is occurring in the building connected by a common ventilation system.

The unit shuts an air valve when smoke is detected coming through the air vent or when smoke is detected in the ambient local surrounding. Audible alarm alerts the occupants of the smoke. The air valve shutter will automatically open only after the smoke is cleared.

The PYROSAFE VENT smoke detector and heat sensor and is designed to operate in both domestic kitchen and bathroom environments and is able to be used in all household living spaces.

The AUTOSTAT smart humidity controler constantly adjusts the sensitivity of the smoke detector during times of high humidity to eliminate false alarms caused by high levels of water vapour/mist from kitchen and bathroom activities.

 

PYRSOSAFE VENT INSTALLATION

PYROSAFE VENT position should be at high level and be as far as practical from the main source of air replacement – this is to avoid short-circuiting of the airflow. The vent can be placed on a wall or ceiling ducting system. The unit features a 98mm spigot to fit onto an adaptor or a circular 100mm ducting system.

Electrical power supply should be derived from the ring main or lighting circuit, and there should be a way of isolating the power to the unit without isolating the whole supply circuit. Any electrical connection boxes must be made distinguishable by either colour or engraving.

It is also a requirement that prior to installing the PYROSAFE VENT all ducting should be cleaned.

PYROSAFE VENT features a stainless steel duct and electromechanical air valve shutter assembly (including intumescent fire break) with integral smoke, heat and humidity detector, intumescent lithium battery charger and microprocessor controller.

The maintenance data log of test and activation (covering minimum of two years) is accessible with a Bluetooth control smartphone app.
